All Quiet on the Western Front
Hi all,
Well, a very grey and cloudy Tuesday hello to everyone. A day in which not all that much happened. We are told that Gillard won the fight but Rudd remains the people's champion, that the oscars were rather boring and sleeping tablets are linked to early death...Yawn!
I'm seeking days of excitment, visually stunning events of madness and success.
I live in Melbourne, it can't be far away.
In terms of films, Project X opens this week. Created from the minds of those behind 'The Hangover', you can see the similarities from the trailer, the premise, from basically everything. We all love a good party...remember that idiot a few years back who became an overnight sensation because of his party advert? I think his name was Corey...The results would of looked similar to Project X...but I am told to expect 'Superbad on crack'.
That concludes my rant for today, fairly tame I know, but it all revolves around the material that Melbourne presents me with.
There is a group going around robbing local gaming venues...
Maybe we should all just fight crime on a Tuesday?
There's a parting thought.

The Oscars...really?
So, another year of films, another poor list to choose from.
The Artist wins best picture...really? Another film set in days gone by, though magnified through black and white visuals, cheerful tunes and laughable facial expressions. When I saw the trailer to this film, it didn't interest me in the slightest.
Of the nominees, I thought Moneyball was the most impressive and definitely up the alley of those who cast a vote. Midnight in Paris had no chance, The Descendants was another outlet for George Clooney to get his big mug on screen and Hugo was only technically stunning, not deserving of best picture. The others were merely list fillers, which shows the type of film the Academy goes for.
Last year, The King's Speech was chosen over more enjoyable flicks such as Inception, The Social Network, The Fighter, Toy Story 3 and True Grit.
Does anyone take notice anymore?
I'm still puzzled over Avatar's loss to The Hurt Locker.
Catch you all tomorrow.

A Wet Melbourne Monday
Hey all,
What a fantastic start to the week. Our first sights, sounds and feelings are of rain, grey clouds and stifling humidity. You would doubt the sun will appear today, but it's Melbourne so let's not place any bets.
Julia Gillard has once again defeated her arch rival Kevin Rudd. It was more a battle of the voices. To the average radio listener it would appear a bogan and Kermit the frog were arguing over who should run this country.
That is all for now, as we recover from our weekend antics and pray for Friday and sunshine. Until tomorrow, peace out.

The Introduction
To be the first of many entries is a small introduction. A place to rant, to throw about the interesting, the quirky, the absolutely crazy topics found on a daily basis. If I see a good movie, I'll let you know, if I attend something notable, I'll let you know, and if I see a local bust-up between two old ladies over a can of tuna, you bet I'll let you know.
